Hi friends! Hopefully you’ve seen the announcement for our February book club pick. We cannot wait to introduce you to Hannah Richell and share more of the fun stuff we have lined up for The Search Party. But before I officially pass the baton to Hannah, I wanted to thank all of you for hanging out this month and supporting us as we launched The Book Tide. And thank you for reading The Frozen River. I’ve loved being the guinea pig. 😉
On that note, before I step aside and give the much-deserved spotlight to Hannah, this is your chance to ask me anything about The Frozen River. I’ll be here until 4:00 CST to answer all those burning questions (yes, even if you want to talk about that scene at the end - IYKYK). Warning: there will be spoilers. So now is your chance to look away if you’ve not read the book. Otherwise, buckle up!

To join the chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email. You can turn on push notifications so you don’t miss conversation as it happens. Or just keep an eye on the chat via the app. (I personally hate all notifications, push and otherwise, and do not do this).
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I loved the book so much that I’ve recommended it to 5 people and bought two copies besides my own. One for my husband’s stepmom and one for a friend. Well done and all the praise is deserved.
I’ve been wondering how Martha Ballard’s voice came to you as it doesn’t appear to be that strong in her diary entries that were shared. She seems so real and I feel like we could meet up for coffee. Also as a parent of 3 with one a junior in college, I loved the way you portrayed her older children. That too felt real
I loved The Frozen River! Any chance you will write more novels about Martha Ballard? I’d love to see a series on TV with these great characters
